I was lucky enough to have known Walt for a number of years and loved his joy. My favorite memory, is driving Walt back to Mt. Pleasant after he and his brothers Bill and Al had visited Graceland. Walt had returned with an even greater appreciation for "The King" and a new addition to his Elvis collection. We played the cd's all the way back, although The King took a backseat to Walt' renditions.
His love of life, was both contagious and a reminder that facing the world with a smile, is a gift worth sharing. I loved Walter and often think of him, when faced with a challenge. Walter's song of life, was every bit as beautiful as anything Elvis ever sang, and Walt's chorus added to the refrains.
