Obituary for Waltrude "Trudy" Wood
WOOD, WALTRUDE “TRUDY”, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Comfort Care Center of Mt. Pleasant.
The funeral for Trudy will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Deacon Jim Damitio Officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at Reflections Reception Center at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Trudy will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Trudy was born in Alzenau, Germany, on January 19, 1929, the daughter of Valentin and Eva (Scharf) Lang. She married William F. Wood on January 5, 1948. Trudy was a homemaker and mother to her four children. She is a member of Sacred Heart Church. Trudy loved playing cards, reading, crafting, and most of all spending time with her family.
Trudy is survived by her four children, Elton (Sheryl) Wood of Lexingon, S.C., Carol Peacock of Mt. Pleasant, Charles (Marlene) Wood of Mt. Morris, MI, Steven Wood of Lexingtin, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Ansgar (Marietta) Lang of Bodenwerder, German.
Trudy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William F. Wood in 1988; sister, Rita Binder-König; son-in-law, Duane Peacock and daughter-in-law: Ginny Wood.
