Obituary for Wayne Stanley Coston
COSTON, WAYNE STANLEY, age 86, of Weidman, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services for Wayne will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sampson Coston officiating. A luncheon will immediately be held in Reflections Reception Center following the funeral service. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. The family will greet friends on Sunday, April 28, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Wayne was born June 3, 1937, in Crystal, Michigan, the son of Sanford and Etta Mae (Snyder) Coston. He graduated from Stanton High School with the class of 1955. Following graduation, Wayne served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. On October 25, 1958, Wayne married Kaye Lynne Conner in Palo, Michigan. He worked as a resident LPAN at the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center for 20 years, followed by owning Coston Plumbing for the next 20 years. Wayne and Kaye enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Texas with their daughter. He loved his vegetable garden, hunting, and fishing.
Wayne is survived by his wife Kaye Coston; daughter Deborah Haines of Pearland, Texas; sons Kirk Coston of Grand Rapids and Greg Coston of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Sarah Ann Coston (Michael Kraver) of St. Louis, MO, Kristen Faith Coston of Kalamazoo, Nathan Scott Coston of Grand Rapids; brother John (Ruth) Coston of Stanton; sisters Marilyn Augustine of Ithaca, Sandra Kioski of North Carolina; brother-in-law Ernie Phillips of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters-in-law Sue (Larry) Wymer of Ithaca, Margie (Ross) Prevo of Cedar Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sons Eric Wayne Coston and Jeffrey Jon Coston; sister Arlene Phillips; brothers-in-law Gordon Augustine, Stan Kioski, Ronnie Conner; and parents-in-law Russell and LuCretia “Pat” Conner.
