Wayne Arnold Hansen, age 86, of Edmore, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021.

He was born on June 5th, 1934, in McBride, the son of Leroy and Helen Hansen. Wayne married his high school sweetheart Janet Lorenz on August 23rd, 1953 and they spent 67 wonderful years together and raised five terrific kids.

Wayne graduated from Edmore High School in 1952 and then went on to Ferris State College and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Pharmacy. During that time, he also served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and Fort Knox.

Wayne and Janet owned and operated Hansen’s Pharmacy in Edmore from 1964 to 1993. The pharmacy was a family run business with all five children working there while growing up. They also had a hobby horse farm where they raised thoroughbred racehorses. After retiring, Wayne and Janet switched to trail riding with mules. They were members of the MidMichigan Mule Club and spent 20 summers camping and trail riding with friends throughout the state. Wayne also enjoyed hunting deer and antelope in Wyoming with Janet and salmon fishing on Lake Michigan when his kids were young.

Wayne is survived by his wife Janet, his five children: Jeff (Connie) Hansen of Edmore, Vanessa (Craig) Eldred of Edmore, Scott (Irene) Hansen of Coloma, Matt (Renee) Hansen of Midland and Dennis (Amy) Hansen of Pendleton, SC, his 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louanna Clark, Donna Anderson and brother Erwin Hansen.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.

Wayne was a warm and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and he will be missed dearly by his entire family.
