Obituary for Wayne McAllister
MCALLISTER, GALVIN "WAYNE", age 73, of Wheeler passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at his home under the care of The Care Team Hospice.
Funeral Services for Wayne will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 9, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Zane Abberger officiating. Interment will follow in the Lafayette Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will take place back at the Wheeler Township Hall after the Committal Service. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Wayne was born on June 2, 1946, in Whitley County, KY, the son of Fred and Pearl (Carpenter) McAllister. He married Rita Masingil on November 11, 2000 in Salley, SC. Wayne worked as a tree trimmer for multiple tree companies. Wayne enjoyed playing guitar and poker. He loved visiting with friends and family.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Carl Wayne McAllister of Richmond, KY; step-daughter, Sonya Daymon (Levi Ives) of St. Louis; grand-daughter, Paige McAllister of Richmond, KY; grandson, Brent Cole Russell of St. Louis; siblings, Mary (James) Prestage of Vestaburg and Ralph Honeycutt of Riverdale; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Jeff) Seagle of Monetta, SC, and Thelma (Jim) Russell of Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Honeycutt; and stepdaughter, Amie Pernak.
