Obituary for William Francis Faber Jr.

Faber, William Francis Jr., 88, of Beal City passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

A Funeral Mass for Bill will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church of Beal City on Friday, July 16th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Held officiating. Following the mass, Bill will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. A luncheon will follow at the Beal City Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 15th, from 2-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and on Friday, July 16th, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School or the Beal City Athletic Association. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and the church.

William was born on July 31st, 1932, in Beal City, the son of William and Christine (Tilmann) Faber, Sr. He graduated from Beal City High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Kathleen McConnell on October 21, 1961, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Rosebush.

William was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and Beal City Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong farmer in partnership with his brother Arthur. During retirement, he loved to follow his grandchildren in all of their activities and loved following all Beal City sports.

William is survived by his children, Richard (Julie) Faber of Lake Isabella and Robert (Wendy) Faber of Beal City; grandchildren, Travis (Catherine) Faber, Ryan (Sydney) Faber, Angela (Ryan) Langan, Michael Murphy, Michael Hopkins and Alexander Hopkins-Faber; great-grandson, Castiel; sisters, Sr. Cecilia Faber and Sr. Doris Faber; brother-in-law Thomas (Maureen) McConnell; and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathleen; children, Thomas, Christine and Donald; sisters, Irene (Charles) Schmidt, Jean (Martin) Applegreen, Martha (Joseph) Reihl, Rosalia (Raldon) Pasch, Mary (Joseph) Hemgesburg; brothers Walter (Eileen) (Lolly) Faber, Arthur (Victoria) Faber and infant brother Harold Faber; in-laws, Helen (Ned) Hawkins, B. J. (Eleanor) McConnell, and Anne (Michael) Strauss.
