William “Bill” Frederick Hoskey 91 of Harrison, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. William was born March 14, 1927 in Flint, Michigan the son of Fritz and Mary Catherine (Hale) Hoskey. Mr. Hoskey honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On December 20, 1952 in Flint, Bill was united in marriage to Virginia Jean O’Neal. After forty-eight years of marriage, Mrs. Hoskey preceded Bill in death on March 23, 2001.
Surviving Mr. Hoskey are his loving children; one son, Carl and (wife Pam) Hoskey of Otisville, Michigan, one daughter, Barb and (husband Greg) Helms of Lewisburg, Tennessee, four grandchildren; Gregory and (wife Della) Helms, Jennifer and (husband Richard) Schmunk, Amber Norman and Casey and (husband Jonathan) Wilson, seven great-grandchildren; Christopher Hoskey, Gavin Norman, Carl Hoskey, Addy Norman, Grace Wilson, Alexis Wilson and Cameron Wilson, two sisters; Pat Thomas of Flint and Judy and (husband Pete) Haley of Flint, one brother in law, Bob Lied of Gladwin, Michigan, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Hoskey also was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Curtis Lane Hoskey and Fred Hoskey, one granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hoskey, one great-grandson, David Michael Wilson, four sisters; Margaret Lied, Betty Brown, Mary Catherine Hoskey and Donna Marie Hoskey, one brother, Bobby and (wife Dee) Hoskey and two brothers in law; John Thomas and Eldon Brown. The Hoskey family would like to give special thanks with love to nieces Roxanne and Mary, and close friends Bill and (wife Daniela) Ridenour.
A Celebration Gathering will be held in Mr. Hoskey’s honor on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Inurnment will immediately follow at Hamilton Township Cemetery, Harrison. For several years, Mr. Hoskey served at his church helping with their monthly food program.
