Bill was born April 19, 1960, to William and Eva (Keller) Lorenz Sr. He attended Mount Pleasant Public Schools, graduating in the Class of 1978. Bill married Mary LaClair Lentz in Las Vegas, NV on March 1, 1990. Bill has owned and operated United Floor Covering Inc of Mt. Pleasant for 32 years. He is a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the NRA, Home Builders Association, Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, a lifetime sponsor of the Mt Pleasant Little League and Isabella County 4H.

Bill is known for his love of all things Baseball. It didn’t matter whether he was sitting in the stands, the dugout, or coaching the Tigers from the couch, he always enjoyed watching a good game. One of his greatest joys was watching his Grandson Wyatt play baseball. And coaching Wyatt, and his teammates, from the stands.

Bill enjoyed many things in life. From his love of Baseball, woodworking and building custom furniture pieces for friends and family, a great Scotch, to pheasant hunting in Iowa and South Dakota with the guys, and playing frisbee with his beloved dog, Dude, to his concert dates with his Daughter Michelle, being the “wagon driver” for his Son-in-Law Craig, playing cribbage with Nathan, Glen and Hunter, to joking with Mary about all the items she added to his “honey-do” list and making her watch “another” episode of Gunsmoke or John Wayne movie. Bill and Mary spent many years traveling with great friends.

Bill worked hard and stood by his work, he was devoted to his business and customers. Many of his customers were more like family to him. The relationships with his customers spanned decades and generations. Many called him “just to check in” on him and his family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Michelle (Craig) Emily of Clare and Kathrine (Dena) Lorenz of Beverly Hills; grandson, Wyatt Emily of Clare; mother, Eva Lorenz of Mt. Pleasant; brother, David (Lisa) Lorenz of Fort Wayne IN; sister, Carolyn J. Lorenz of Mt. Pleasant; beloved in-laws Maryetta LaClair, Norma and Glen Kendall; and nieces and nephews, Sadie & Delaine Lorenz, Breanna McEntee and Blake Fetters, Nathan and Stephanie Kendall, Lindsey and Daryl Schott, Brooke & Weston Rooks; and GUB (Great Uncle Bill) to Kenny & Allie Rooks, Asher and Mattis Schott, and Natalie & Liam Kendall; best friends Aaron Hunter, Brian and Pat Christofis.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Sr.; father-in-law, Norman LaClair; niece, Tina Martin; and great-niece, Regan Schott.

At the family’s request, please wear your baseball cap, jersey, or favorite team gear to the service. He would love it!
