Bonita June Brooks
October 19, 1939-April 15, 2013

Bonita June Brooks, age 73, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant from complications from renal failure and cancer.

Following Bonita's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Bonita was born on October 19, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of George and Opal (McBride) Granger. Bonita worked for Meijer's for 16 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed all of the people that she met throughout the years. Bonita loved to garden, crochet, and spend time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bonita is survived by her children, Jill (Dave) Pickering, Julie (Patrick) Sheahan, Jack (Jean) Brooks, June (Matthew) Bonstelle, Joan (Harold) Travis; and Randy Ellis; ex-husband, William Brooks; grandchildren, Maureen (Aaron), Allison, Kevin, Jessica, Cody, Jason (Kim), Ashley (Tony), and Justin; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Lucian, and Joel; brothers, William (Jane) Granger, Ralph (Becky) Granger, and Tim Granger.

Bonita was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Granger; and sister-in-law, Tharon Granger.

Bonita's children would like to thank all of her caregivers through Primary Healthcare, the staff of The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant, and the DaVita Dialysis staff.
