William Raymond Newell, 41, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 22nd, at 1 p.m. with Joel McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in the Denver Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20th from 4-9 p.m., on Saturday, August 21st from 4-9 p.m., and on Sunday, August 22nd from noon until the time of Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newell family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

William was born on November 7, 1968 in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and enjoyed his golf league, bar-b-que, music, canoeing, and going to concerts.

William is survived by his children, Tyler Newell and Joslyn Newell, both of Mt. Pleasant; parents, James & Faye Newell of Middleton, MI; biological mother, Zilda Jackson of Honor, MI; brothers, Jim (Pam) Newell of Mt Pleasant, Steve Newell of Perrinton, MI, Peter (Amanda) Newell of Ithaca, Sam (Jennifer) Newell of Middleton, Anthony “Tony” Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, Terrence Finney of Traverse City, Michael (Tammy) Finney of Benzonia, MI, Kevin Jenkins of Mt. Pleasant, and Dennis Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Cherie (Larry) Filmore of Duluth, MN, Christine (Ron) Neyer of Beal City, Luanne Finney of Mesick, MI, Lorena Paname of Thompsonville, MI, and Angela Jenkins-Younker of Traverse City.

William was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice Miller.
