Obituary for Avis June Harless

Avis  June  Harless
HARLESS, AVIS JUNE, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services for Avis will take place on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Ron Thompson officiating. A Luncheon will take place at the church immediately following the funeral service. Interment will take place at Salt River Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 15 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HATS (Humane Animal Treatment Society). Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
Avis was born May 26, 1931 in Doddridge County, WV to Frank and Nellie Helena (Wilcox) Kimball. She graduated in 1949 from Doddridge County High School. Avis married Dennis "Ray" Harless on December 6, 1958. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1992. Avis dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She loved reading, country music, NASCAR, and loved her Detroit Tigers. Avis loved all animals, especially all of her fur grandchildren.
Avis is survived by her three children Richard (Roxanne) Harless of Midland, Denny (Leigh) Harless of Farmington Hills, and Dawn Harless of Mt. Pleasant; 6 grandchildren Jessica (Erik) Grossman of Dimondale, Stephanie Harless and Kaylee Harless of Mt. Pleasant, Sydney, Zachary, and Jake Harless all of Farmington Hills; and one great granddaughter Audrey Grossman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, brother Jack, sister Joan, and grandson Ryan.
