Obituary for Benjamin Franklin Osborn
Benjamin Franklin Osborn, age 86, of Remus passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the MediLodge of Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services for Ben will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 1, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in the Broomfield Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Ben was born on April 7, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the son of Benjamin and Ruth (Hayes) Osborn. Ben proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He married Mable Cuthbert in 1950. Ben was a great musician and played in several bands. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. Ben loved cutting trees from his property for winter wood supplies.
Ben is survived by his wife, Mable "Cides"; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Isanhart of Barryton and Berneice (Russell) Rolston of Mt. Pleasant, brother-in-law, John Cuthbert of Sears; several nieces and nephews including, Debra (Robert) Struthers, Brenda Rolston, Archie Isanhart, Bonnie (Roger) Potter, Shari Mester, and Carla Cuthbert; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ben was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kay Elaine; parents; and sister, June Biehl.
