WIEFERICH, BETTY MAE, age 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Green Acres in Mt. Pleasant under the care of MidMichigan Hospice.

A Funeral Mass for Betty will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, July 3, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Don Henkes officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Betty was born on October 25, 1929, in Beal City, the daughter of William and Olivia (Schumacker) Halfmann. She married Sylvester "Syl" Wieferich on November 8, 1947, at Sacred Heart Church. Betty worked for United Apartments as a leasing agent and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and making crafts.

Betty is survived by her children, Bonnie (Clifford) Bryant of Rosebush, Peg (James) Barz of Roscommon, Jane (Richard) Losey of Lake Isabella, Deb (Kip) Alexander of Wadsworth, OH, and son-in-law, Don Allen of New Lothrop; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ann McCormick and Esther Scully Cotter, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Syl in 2003; daughter, Mary Allen; parents; brothers, William Halfmann and Gerald Halfmann; sisters, Leona Halfmann, Eileen Cotter, Vada Sargent, and Rita Block.
