Brenda Sue Darling, 71 of Harrison passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home. Brenda was born November 11, 1945 in Gratiot County, Michigan the daughter of Clayton and Beulah (Bott) Foster. Brenda had resided in Harrison since 1985, coming from Alma, Michigan. On October 2, 1998 Brenda was united in marriage to Mr. Lee C. Darling. Mr. Darling preceded Brenda in death on December 3, 2009 after twenty years of marriage.
Mrs. Darling enjoyed reading, crocheting, puzzle books, dot to dot puzzle books, watching game shows and “The Amazing Race” series, playing Euchre and Pinochle. Brenda volunteered many hours with Hospice and also was an avid blood donor.
Surviving Brenda is her son, Gary Lee Smith and wife Debbie of Placida, Florida, one step-son, Scott Darling of Harrison, three step-daughters; Toni Darling of Bell, Florida, Teri Darling also of Bell, Florida and Tracy Gillie and husband Roger of Harrison, nine grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, one sister, Sharron Tester of Breckenridge, Michigan, two brothers; Terry Foster and wife Sharon of Merrill, Michigan and Jim Foster and wife Pat of Columbia, South Carolina, many nieces, nephews and her beloved bird, Jake. Mrs. Darling also was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barb Rodriquez and one brother in law, Larry Tester.
Celebration of Life services honoring Mrs. Darling will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Julie Reinke officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to gather on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service to share memories. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison.
