Obituary for Carla Alane Custer

Carla Alane Custer
CUSTER, CARLA ALANE, age 39, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home. She loved her daughter, she loved her husband, she loved her parents, she loved her family, and she loved her many, many friends.

Carla was born November 2, 1977, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Richard Alan Beckwith and Marilyn Leigh Rowe. She married Michael Custer on September 29, 2012. Carla worked for Social Security Administration in Mt. Pleasant. Carla was a very creative person who loved artwork, music, poetry, and gardening. She was also an avid reader.

Carla is survived by her husband Michael Custer and daughter Amelia Marilyn Custer of Mt. Pleasant; parents, Marilyn (Kurt) Titus and Richard (Nancy) Beckwith, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandmother Joy Roberts of Okemos; stepbrothers Lane (Holly) Titus of Howell, Tim (Jessica) Titus of New York, Dan (Sarah Boerger) Titus of Steamboat Springs, CO, Derrick (Sarah) Schafer of Seffner, FL; stepsisters Tammy (Jeff) Fahrney of Brighton, Elizabeth Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; sisters-in-law Julie Baker of Shepherd, Cathy Evans of Salt Lake City, UT, Joanne Reffit of Houghton Lake; brothers-in-law Bob Custer, Alan Custer, and Ed Custer all of Owosso; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Doug and Cecelia Rowe; paternal grandparents Clyde and Alice Beckwith.

A Memorial Service for Carla will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will also continue the day of the service beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Carla's daughter, Amelia. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or donations may be made through Isabella Bank & Trust's Trust Department.
