Obituary for Charles E. Wilson

Wilson, Charles E., age 93, of Farwell, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Services for Charles will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Fr. Thomas Held officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow the committal service at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Beal City. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 from 4 – 8 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School or McLaren Hospice.

Charles was born on April 22, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Charles J. Wilson and Lydia L. (Zeir) Wilson. He married Margaret A. Wescoat on October 8, 1949. Charles served as a sergeant in the United States Army, running a German prison camp after WWII. He worked as a dairy farmer, retiring in 1978. Charles was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #6351 and the VFW Post #3033. He loved hunting, fishing and building deer blinds.

Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters, Jacalyn (Barney) McCormick of Arcadia, FL and Dianna Moore of Farwell, son-in-law, Kevin Twitchell of Woodland, CA, sisters-in-law, Eloise Wilson, Janet Wilson and Mary Jo Wilson of Mt. Pleasant and Pat Wilson of Dexter, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, brothers, Bob (Judy) Wilson, Richard (Charlene) Wilson and Bill (Diane) Wilson, all of Mt. Pleasant and sister, Pat (Russ) Torpey of Lake.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dan and Mark Wilson, daughter, Carol Twitchell, son-in-law, Gary Moore, brothers, Don Wilson, Glen Wilson, Ray Wilson, Jim Wilson and Harry Wilson, sisters, Pamela Hoover, Deloris “Lori” Graham and Betty Loomis.
