Cheryl Lynn  Smith
SMITH, CHERYL LYNN, age 64, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Shepherd, passed away February 24, 2017 in Phoenix, AZ. due to complications from Valley Fever.

A Memorial Service Luncheon for Cheryl will be held at Jamison Park, 5142 Budd Street Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating.

Cheryl was born November 7, 1952 in Alma, Michigan to Duane and Margaret (Phelps) Emery. She graduated from Mason High School with the class of 1971. Cheryl married Willis "Skip" Smith on September 19, 1969. She worked 30 plus years for same bank through many name changes, which is now PNC Bank. Cheryl collected single crystal candle sticks and angels. She enjoyed making stained glass, playing bingo and taking vacations with her husband in their street rod.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 47 years, Skip Smith of Phoenix, AZ; children, Angela McClain (Ray Owen) of Mt. Pleasant, Kristina Smith (Ken Gagne) of Traverse City, and Joshua (Janel) Smith of Fennville; 4 grandchildren Zachary McClain, Brittany Smith, Brandin Smith, and Kaitlyn Austin; 4 great grandchildren; parents Duane (Kathleen) Emery of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret Hillman (Pearl Smith) of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Michael (Ronda) Hillman of Remus, Bruce (Joann) Hillman of Ithaca; sisters Charlotte (Red) McNeal of Mt. Pleasant, Christine Lowery (Paul Davenport) of Alma, and Lucinda Hillman of Missouri.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandparents; sisters Diane Emery and Charlene Kappler; and a granddaughter Raquel Smith.
