Obituary for Christine Jane Sims (Hankins)
Christine Jane Sims, age 67, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at her home under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Funeral Services for Christine will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 30, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the committal service. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Job Coaching Program in the Mt. Pleasant Public School System. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Christine was born on December 24, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Forrest and Bernice (Pease) Hankins. She married Douglas Ray Sims on January 23, 1970 in Mt. Pleasant. Christine worked for the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools as a job coach. Christine enjoyed playing on the computer, bowling, and reading.
Christine is survived her children, James (Darnell) Sims of Mt. Pleasant, Douglas (Saundra) Sims of Chesapeake, VA, and Steven Sims of Mt. Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene Koons of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Aimee Hankins of MIssion, TX; and special friends, Amy Sims, and Doug and Julie DeLong.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Sims; parents; sister, Betty Stanton; and brother, Glen Hankins.
