LAU, CHRISTOPHER ROBERT, age 33, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Christopher will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Potters House Family Worship Center, 5346 E. Deerfield Road, Mt. Pleasant, with Sam Forney officiating. A luncheon will follow the Service at the church. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of Service on Thursday at Potters House. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gemma Rose Mary Lau Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church and Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Christopher was born on September 5, 1982, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Robert L. and Lori L. (Wright) Lau. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 2001 and had played on the Oilers Basketball Team. Chris worked for Mountain Town Garden for two years and previously in the construction trade. He enjoyed gardening and completed the Master Gardener Program through Mid Michigan Community College. He enjoyed fishing and hanging out at bonfires and cookouts. He especially loved spending time with his daughter Gemma and his dog Apollo. Chris was a kind and generous soul.

Christopher is survived by his loving daughter, Gemma Rose Mary Lau and her mother Lindsay Hendershot; his mother Lori Lau of Mt. Pleasant, his father Robert (Kathryn O’Gould) Lau of Shepherd; his brother Collin (Melanie Piedra) Lau of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Arica Sageman and her children Taylor and Tannor and Sarah Lau and her son Jude, all of Mt. Pleasant.

Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents.
