WOODRING, CURTIS ELBON, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at MediLodge in Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Curtis will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chad Parmalee officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at Reflections Reception Center at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or a charity of your choice.
Curtis was born on August 30, 1923 in Boxville, KY to Ulyss Marion and Hattie Polexana (Lynn) Woodring. He married Agnes Marie Murray in Lansing on February 22, 1942, and she preceded him in death in 1981. Curt retired from REO Motor Company in Lansing. He was a member of the VFW Father's Club, enjoyed NASCAR, dancing, and auto racing. Most of all, Curt enjoyed his family and was a loving father.
Curt is survived by two daughters Bonnie (Sam) Gokee of Harbor Springs; and Colleen Parmalee of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, wife Agnes, his significant other Marietta Johnston, son Gary Woodring, and his brothers Hickman, Marvin, and Horace Woodring.
