David Nedry "Big Dave" Langlois
David "Big Dave" Nedry Langlois died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Weidman on Saturday evening, May 28, 2016. David was 39.

David was born September 30, 1976 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan, the only son of his mother, Rosalyn N. Nedry, and his father, Michael D. Langlois.

After a few years in the Mt. Pleasant area, David and his family moved to Weidman where he attended Chippewa Hills Schools. He was a member of the band, playing tuba during his high school years, and earning a state-endorsed diploma in May 1995. David enjoyed working on cars, fishing, cooking, playing cards and video games, and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed the comfort of his cat (Miss Kitty) and dog (Brutus). He worked at a variety of jobs, and especially liked one of his first jobs at the Western Auto store in Weidman during high school and again in 2007. His jobs included security guard, chef, construction crew, manufacturing/industrial labor, automotive service. He held certificates in Welding and Metal Technology from Mid Michigan Community College, and Heavy and Compact Equipment Service from Mecosta-Osceola Career Center; he also was a licensed forklift operator.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, his cousin Sheila Langlois and her daughter Amanda, his aunt Sharon Langlois, his uncle Mike Nedry, and several extended family members.

David is survived by his parents, Rosie Nedry of Edmore, and Mike Langlois and his wife Sandy and Tasha Ballas of Mt. Pleasant, and his special friend and companion Pamela Dalrymple.

A celebration and memorial service will be held for David on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. A Luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service. Cremation will take place and his ashes will be interred at Memorial Gardens with a private ceremony.

Memorials may be made to the family. In lieu of flowers, take a kid fishing.
