David J. Talbot Jr. 92 of Harrison passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Clare. David was born March 2, 1925 in Bay City, Michigan the son of David Talbot Sr. and Angeline (LaFond) Talbot. David honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
On October 5, 1951 in Bay City, Michigan, David was united in marriage to the former Sally Rose Emmrich. After forty-eight years of marriage, Mrs. Talbot preceded David in death on November 25, 1999. David had resided in Harrison since 1985, coming from Quincy, Michigan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 404 of Harrison and Harrison Eagles Aerie #3541.
Surviving Mr. Talbot are his six daughters; Barbara Slater and husband Ernie of Clare, Michigan, Marlene Bartel and husband Robert of Florida, Carole Richards and husband Leonard of Mesa, Arizona, Candy Rumons and husband Dave of Coldwater, Michigan, Kathy Napp of Harrison and Debbie Maxwell also of Harrison, two sons; Thomas Paine and Jackie of Arizona and Peter Talbot and wife Glenna of Quincy, his loving caretaker and granddaughter, Nancy Schultz of Harrison, several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, one sister, Cecilia M. Dennis of Arkansas, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, plus his beloved dog, Goliath and beloved cat, Angel. Mr. Talbot also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ashley Talbot and his ward of the state, Anthony Teszlewicz.
Funeral services for David will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Pastor Connie Bongard officiating. Military honors will take place immediately following services under the auspices of the American Legion Post 404 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison.
