Obituary for David Lawrence Williams

David Lawrence  Williams
WILLIAMS, DAVID LAWRENCE, age 44, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Funeral Services for David will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. A Luncheon will take place at the Tribal Gym following the committal service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. and also on Sunday, October 23, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his son, Tanner.

David was born February 1, 1972 in Oscoda, MI, the son of Lee Williams and Mildred Nahgahgwon. He graduated from Oscoda High School in the Class of 1990. Dave married Karen Thomas on July 19, 1997 in Clare. He was employed by Soaring Eagle Casino for 22 1/2 years, working in finance and the past 17 years as a compliance officer. Dave was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and liked to travel and watch movies. Most of all, he loved his time with his son Tanner.

David is survived by his loving wife Karen Williams and loving son Tanner Williams, both of Mt. Pleasant; sister Marion Joseph (Dan Trevino) and special sister-in-law Janet Thomas, all of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law Wayne (Annette) Thomas of Ohio; and mother-in-law Bonnie Thomas of Mt. Pleasant.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law Arnold Thomas.
