Obituary for Donald L. Spohn

SPOHN, DONALD L., age 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Woodland Hospice House.

Funeral Services for Donald will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 25, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andy Molyneux officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflection Reception Center. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Samaritan's Purse, or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Donald was born on October 23, 1931, in Boyertown, PA, the son of David E. and Ethel Mae (Luft) Spohn. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Eleanor Brannan on October 12, 1956, in Pottstown, PA. Donald worked for Vishay Intertechnology, working his way from micro electronics technician to vice president. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Donald enjoyed being outdoors, boating, hunting small game, bible study, working at the church, servicing on committees, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Donald and his son, David, spent many vacations together.

Donald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Spohn; children, David (Kathy) Spohn of Plymouth, MI, and Lisa (Jeff) Poet of Clare; 4 grandchildren, Shaw (Katie) Stanley of Roscommon, Ashley (Bryan) Zak of Chicago, Alison (Jaime) Masters of Cincinnati, and Andrea Spohn of Detroit; 3 great-grandchildren, Darren, Joanna, and Elliott; and brother, George (Anna) Spohn of Bethel, PA; and nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Frank Brannan, Jr., William (Rose) Brannan, and Robert Brannan; and sister-in-law, Mary (LeRoy) Reitnauer.
