Obituary for Donna Jean Breuer

Donna Jean  Breuer
BREUER, DONNA JEAN, 92, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Crestwood Village Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Donna will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Fr. Don Henkes officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow the Service in the Reflections Reception Center. Rite of Committal will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Service on Wednesday, September 23, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging or Donor’s Choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Donna was born on October 23, 1922, in Alma, the daughter of Glynn and Inez Leona (Doty) Eyer. She served in the United States Air Force as a Corporal from 1944-1946. Donna married Harold Peter Breuer on August 20, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She attended beauty school. Donna had worked as a retail clerk at Lloyd’s Shoes in the 1940s and the CMU Book Store. She also worked in the kitchen at CMU and for the State Home. Donna was a member of Sacred Heart and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and golfing with the Groovy Grannies. She loved her cat Rascal.

Donna is survived by her children, Charlotte Phipps of Remus, Joseph Breuer of Mt. Pleasant, Edward Breuer (Fiancee Patti Glassbrook) of Coldwater Lake, Monica Tilmann of Mt. Pleasant and Teresa (Richard) Keehbauch of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Bemis of East Lansing; and sister-in-law, Ilse Eyer of Detroit.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Harold Breuer in 1979; sons-in-law, Donald Phipps, Doug Dutcher and John Tilmann; parents, and four brothers.
