Dorothy Margerite  Purtill
PURTILL, DOROTHY MARGERITE, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her home.
Funeral Services for Dorothy will take place on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A Luncheon will be held at Reflections Reception Center at Clark Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Dorothy was born March 11, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant to Ernest and Carrie (Dorfer) Faber. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1950. Dorothy married Henry James Purtill in 1950 in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death in 1988. She worked for CMU in the Food Service Department, and retired after 23 years. Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved living on the farm and being in the country. Dorothy also enjoyed listening to music and her Wednesday outings at Isabella County Food with Friends group in Weidman.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Ed Purtill (Darlene Brasington) of Mt. Pleasant, Bill Purtill of Mt. Pleasant, Dave Purtill of Nashville, TN, and Rod (Janet) Purtill of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters Vada Dowling of Mt. Pleasant, Eleanor Baker of Chesaning; brother Robert (Jean) Faber of Durand; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Connie Douglas, and 3 siblings.
