Obituary for Dorothy Anna Tilmann

TILMANN, DOROTHY ANNA, age 90, of Beal City, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Thomas Held officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Beal City Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church, followed by Rosary at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Dorothy was born on November 28, 1926, the daughter of John and Rosina (Faber) Neubecker. She graduated with the class of 1944 from St. Philomena Catholic School in Beal City. Dorothy married Albert Tilmann on May 1, 1948 with Father Edward Neubecker officiating. She was a civil service employee at the Mt. Pleasant State Home and Training School. Later she worked for the U&I Supply Company as an office manager. After her children were in school, she worked as a supervisor/executive secretary at Central Michigan University. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, walking, and doing crossword puzzles. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

Dorothy is survived by her children David (Dianne) Tilmann, Mary Stokes, Denise (Jeff) Malec, and Pamela Tilmann. Her grandchildren; John (Kim) Tilmann, Ashley (Brian)Wezensky, Kim (Brian) Eikenberry, Carrie Tilmann (Chris Cater), Trevor (Sarah) Stokes, Tyler Stokes, Troy Stokes, Anna Malec, Michael Malec, Emily Malec, Joel Tilmann, and Mindy Baxter; Great Grandchildren: Grant and Rachel Tilmann; Logan and Avery Wezensky; Abigail, Cannon and Ava Tilmann; Quincy, Rory and Brady Baxter; brother, Ronald (Barb) Neubecker; sister-in-law Joann Neubecker and brother-in-law Eugene Tilmann.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert in 2004; son John in 2000; brother Norman Neubecker; sisters and bro-in-laws, Luella and Jim Lawler, Genevieve and Jerry Fox, Vada and Adam Holp, Vera and Norbert John Neubecker, parents-in-law Wm. and Ida Tilmann; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Vol Courtright, William and Barbara J. Tilmann, Mildred and Ed Schafer, and Elizabeth Tilmann.
