Obituary for Edward Theron Mumy

Edward Theron Mumy, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home.

Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service for Edward will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 7 p.m. with Jason Wilson officiating. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging Meals on Wheels program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Ed was born on October 24, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Nila Edward and Lena Ruth (McConnell) Mumy. Ed worked as a rig foreman for Lease Management and Long and Wetzel Oil Companies for many years. He was a great craftsman, raised horses, and spent many years with his family on Eight Point Lake. He loved fishing, his dog, Sally Jo, listening to country music, and watching westerns.

Ed is survived by his children, Louann (Mark) Philo of Mt. Pleasant and Michelle Mumy (Scott Systermann) of Blanchard; four grandchildren, Jeana (Trevor) Bechtel of Mt. Pleasant, Amanda Bowers of Mt. Pleasant, Ryan (Alyssa Romasco) Systermann of Fort Myers, Florida, and Erica (Nate Wisenberger) Brown of Shepherd; three great-grand children, Brantley Bechtel, Jordan Bechtel, and Brayden Wisenberger; siblings, Joyce (Kenneth) Clark of St. Johns, Carol Mumy of Ithaca, Becky Mumy of Traverse City, Cathy (Rob) Fluharty of Traverse City; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunt, and uncles.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
