Obituary for Evelyn Freda Jones (Maxfield)
JONES, EVELYN FREDA, age 93, of Rosebush passed away Monday, August 28, 2017, at Rosebush Manor in Rosebush under the care of Heartland Hospcie.
A Memorial Service for Evelyn will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 30, at 1 p.m. A Luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Rosebush Manor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Evelyn was born on May 22, 1924, in Wyman, the daughter of Glen and Flossie (Kent) Maxfield. She married Paul Payne Lewis. The two of them had four children together. Later, she married Jack Courter, having one son together. She then married, St. Clair Jones. Evelyn worked in direct care and education at the Mt. Pleasant Center for many years, retiring in 1984. She volunteered at the Isabella County Commission on Aging and loved to read.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Paula Curtiss of Los Alamitos, CA, Diane (Allan) Fisher of Wheaton, IL, Toni (Steve) Canning of Port Orford, OR, David (Karen) Lewis of Mt. Pleasant, and John Saint Jones of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Susan Curtiss, Cindy (Kevin) Cole, Jeff (Jennifer) Fisher, Jason (Amanda) Lewis, Rob (Amanda) Lewis, and Carter (Nicole) Lewis; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clyde, Cliff, and Eston Maxfield.
