Obituary for Frederick D. Kelsey

Frederick D.  Kelsey
KELSEY, FREDERICK D., age 77, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at his home.

Funeral Services for Fred will be held at the Maranatha Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gene Haymaker officiating. A Luncheon will follow at the church. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 21, from 3 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Fred was born on September 1, 1939, in Lansing, the son of Martin and Ada (Sprague) Kelsey. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army. Fred married Alberta Palmer on October 30, 1959 at the Vestaburg Baptist Church. The Lord Jesus Christ was supreme in his life. He was dedicated to his faith and the Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. Fred worked for Morbark for 32 years. He enjoyed watching wildlife from his back deck, hunting, fishing, camping, working on tractors and neighbors equipment, and gardening.

Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alberta; children, Marylue Kelsey, Darin (Janet) Kelsey, Eric (Merrily) Kelsey, Kevin Kelsey, and Brian (Sarah) Kelsey; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Hartman, Margie Spencer, Marty (Judy) Kelsey; and siblings-in-law, Al Bacon and Kay Kelsey.

Fred was preceded in death by his grandsons, Adam and Josiah Kelsey; parents; and siblings, Alfred Kelsey, Bobbie Bacon, and Richard Kelsey.
