Obituary for Gary B. House

Gary B.  House
HOUSE, GARY B., age 78, of Rosebush passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Green Acres in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Gary will be held at Rosebush United Methodist Church on Friday, January 19, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Beavan officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow back at the church after the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Great Lakes Caring Hospice, or the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Rosebush United Methodist Church.

Gary was born on November 28, 1939, in Rosebush, the son of Oliver and Lena (Bellinger) House. He married Shirley Phillips on December 6, 1958, in Rosebush. Gary was a lifetime farmer and worked in the pipelines for Welded Construction for many years before starting Gary House Excavating, Michigan Pipe Supply, Pioneer Contracting, and Olena. He served on the board of ICTC, the Isabella County Fair Board, and on many committees at the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Gary enjoyed golfing and was a farmer at heart, raising 4-H beef cattle. Gary will be remembered as a hard worker and deep napper. Gary's family was his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley House; daughters, Lorinda (Scott) Moss of Mt. Pleasant and Stefanie House of Rosebush; grandchildren, Amy (Caleb) Boge, Kyle (Angie) Moss, Erika Moss, Laurel Moss, and Lenagrace House; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Moss; brother-in-law, Don (Sue) Phillips; sisters-in-law, Nina House, Barb House, and Sharon Carrier; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Theda (Morval) LaLone, Enid (George) Nestle, Dale House, Wanda (Wellington) Funnel, Verda (Robert) Bean, and Arlo House; and brother-in-law, Jay Carrier.
