Obituary for George Elmer Flaugher Sr.

George Elmer Flaugher Sr.
George Elmer Flaugher Sr, 72, of Beal City, passed away on March 16th, 2016 at Mid Michigan Health in Midland surrounded by his family.

Celebration of life for George will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 18, 2016 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Beal City Sports Boosters, Isabella County Commission on Aging or to wishes of family.

He lived and worked his entire life in Isabella County, growing up in Shepherd and residing in Beal City.

George wore many hats throughout his life. His work career revolved around working with heavy equipment, driving a truck, in a dozer, excavating or driving a school bus. His volunteerism was never ending. He was a volunteer for the Nottawa Sherman Fire Department for 19 years to currently delivering meals on wheels for the Commission on Aging. He also volunteered for the Beal City athletics where he was recently humbly given the honor of Grand Marshall. He also enjoyed anything to do with steam engines.

Most important to George was his family, his pride and love for all he proudly displayed. He enjoyed attending sporting events, hanging out at our Friday night happy hours, trips to Brimley with the boys to the hunting cabin and supper with his friends.

He is survived by his wife Dawn of 44 years, his children, Roger (Beth) Flaugher, Kim (Tim) Tilmann, Rhonda (Steve) Gruss, George (Kim Godden) Flaugher Jr., Jim (Judy) Flaugher, Roxanne (Kraig) Esch and Rod (Jodi) Flaugher. His grandchildren, Meagan (Nick) Randall, Eric Flaugher, Karen (Dwight) Roelofs, Kathy Stalter, Tony (Suzanne) Tilmann, Amanda (Tom) Gross, Stephanie (Seth) Lerg, Kendra Flaugher, Jacob Flaugher, Brandon (Darcey) Flaugher, April (Jake) Gepford, Ashley (Abe) Schafer, Nicole Lingnau, Taylor Esch, Kelsey Flaugher, Kendall Flaugher. His great grandchildren Allyse, Alivia, Ethan, Julia, Lillian, Cole, Cylie, Lauren, Collin, Avery, Brady, Emma, Ellis, Madison, Chloe, Bentley, Audrey, Zachary and Blake.
