I am sadden to hear of the passing of my dear friend. We first met in the 4th grade (I was 9 years old) when my family moved to Mt.Pleasant. Our mothers worked together at the State Home and Training School and were great friends. Glenda and I had so much fun together as only best friends can understand. We told each other our dreams and hopes in our daily lives. Glenda was always a beautiful person inside and out. Each week she would buy the popular record of the week. She had a great collection. We played with cut out dolls and watched scary movies.Summers we would enjoy arts and crafts at the schools playground. By 7th grade we were 12yrs old and excited about junior high school and meeting all the kids from other elementary schools. In high school Glenda took French, I took Spanish. She was a good student. In our senior year we went on our senior class trip to New York City. We shared a room and had a blast. As adults I would visit her and her children often. Our last visit with each other was a few years ago. We had lunch together and shared laughs. I will miss my dear friend.
