Obituary for Gregory Thrush

THRUSH, GREGORY, age 66, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017, at University Hospital Medical Center in Parma, Ohio.

Funeral Services for Greg will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 11, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Lopez and Pastor Tim Walker officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Greg was born on June 30, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Clayton Charles and Ruth Lucille (Fleury) Thrush. He graduated from Shepherd High School with the class of 1969. During his high school career, Greg was a fantastic athlete, and pitched a no hitter game for his team. Greg married Carol Archey on May 25, 1974 in Mt. Pleasant. Greg worked for various food service groups for over 40 years throughout the Midwestern United States and Colorado, most recently for Allied Technology Food Service Equipment as a territory manager. He began his career working for Delfield, then worked for Randell Manufacturing for 29 years. Greg was best described as a positive encourager. He was a gifted handyman, and loved to do projects for his children. Greg was a member of Church Alive International in Brookpark, Ohio. He had been an active member of Christian Family Church and World Outreach Center in Owatonna, MN where he played bass for the worship team. Greg had also been a member of Resurrection Life in St. Louis. He was also a songwriter and vocalist. Greg was an avid bowler, and had bowled three 300 games in his career. He loved to play softball, golf, and was an avid Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan.

Greg is survived by his wife Carol Thrush; children Clayton Thrush (Sarah Farthing) of Mt. Pleasant, Samantha (Richard) Usher of Hartland, MI, Jeremy (Anastasia) Thrush of Boston, MA, and Rebekah Kleinedler of Flushing, MI; 8 grandchildren Alexis and Ashlyn Thrush, Lily Daniels, Avery and Richard Usher, Halle and Heather Hoover, and Amira Nagle; 3 sisters Mary (Gene) Meyer of Shepherd, Sharon (Dale) Jennings of Mt. Pleasant, Debbie (Randy) Sprague of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy Thrush, and nephews Chad Thrush and Shane Sprague.
