YOST, HELEN MARIE, age 97, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Crestwood Village in Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Helen will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Alan Cullen officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crestwood Village or Hometown Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Crestwood Village and Hometown Hospice for their kindness and care.

Helen was born on November 29, 1918, in Saginaw, the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Herringshaw Raab. She graduated from Midland High School with the Class of 1936. She married Herbert Yost on January 27, 1937, in Greendale Township. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1992. Helen worked as a secretary and retired from Dow Chemical in 1972. She was a member of the former Chippewa Baptist Church. Helen was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her two grandchildren Jeff (Chris) Kennedy, Susan (Thad) Wilson, son-in-law William Kennedy, all of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren Jay, Drew, and Casey Kennedy, and Nate, Wade, and Josh Wilson; brother-in-law John Priest of Shepherd; and sister-in-law Myrtle Raab of Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Marcia Kennedy in 2006, brother George Raab, and sister Mary Priest.
