Obituary for Hellen "Doreen" Tworek (Pudney)

TWOREK, HElLEN "DOREEN", age 92, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services for Doreen will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wally Hostetter officiating. Interment will follow in the Chippewa Township Cemetery with a Luncheon to be held at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, July 23, from 2 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging or Mid Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Doreen was born on April 24, 1925, in Croswell, MI, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Herbert) Pudney. She married Joe Tworek on April 29, 1945. Doreen was a woman of faith and was always involved with church ministries. She loved to spend time outdoors, fishing and camping. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards and painting.

Doreen is survived by her children, Cathy (Tim) Lipps, Eric (Debra) Tworek, both of Mt. Pleasant, and Judy (Daniel) Smalley of Waterford; 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Erin, Michael, Hannah, Mark, Ethan, Elizabeth, Jason, Kristen, Leah, Tiffany, and Phillip; 11 great-grandchildren, Victoria Madison, Neven, Abby, Jonathan, Benjamin, Charles, Joslyn, Tate, Taylin, and Brycen; sister, Ellen Maynard of Sandusky, MI; and sister-in-law, Rachel Pudney of Croswell, MI.

Doreen was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tworek in 2010; parents; and brother, Arnold Pudney.

Doreen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family and friends will miss her greatly, but are comforted knowing that she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
