CALKINS, ILENE MARGARET, age 98, of Mt. Pleasant went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.

Funeral Services for Ilene will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 12, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Selvidge officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflection Reception Center. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Ilene was born on September 29, 1918, in Gilmore Township, the daughter of John and Cecil (Cook) Bouchey. She married William "Nelson" Calkins on March 9, 1938 in Clare. Ilene worked for the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center and also decorated cakes for numerous occasions. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Pleasant. She loved sewing and crocheting, spent many hours doing crafts with her husband, Nelson. Ilene enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.

Ilene is survived by her daughter Lorna Wonsey of Shepherd; 3 grandchildren, Charmaine (Alan Roddenberg) Wonsey of Shepherd, Adam (Tina) Wonsey of Shepherd, and Daniel (Traci) Wonsey of Weidman; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, David, and Asher Wonsey; 2 sister, Mary Schrader of Clare and Janet Simerau of Gladwin; brother, Willis (Betty) Bouchey of Clare; sister-in-law, Marion Calkins of Rosebush; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Calkins; parents; sisters, Charlotte Livingston and Lida Myers; brothers, Clifton, Lewis, and Jack Bouchey; and sons-in-law, Lowell Wonsey and Ivan Gates.
