Obituary for Jack Richard Jones
JONES, JACK RICHARD, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Funeral Services for Jack will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Doris Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Jack was born on March 12, 1930, in Fremont Township, the son of Herman and Dorothy (Moore) Jones. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1948 until 1952. He married Ruth Darling on June 26, 1953 at the Courthouse. Jack worked for Hubscher Gravel for 51 years. He was a member of the Judges Bench Coffee Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and mowing his frickin' lawn.
Jack is survived by his children, Marsha (Jerry) Lemon of Flushing, Lucinda Jones of Mt. Pleasant, and Thomas Jones of Shepherd; 2 grandchildren, Steven Lemon and Tracie Lemon; one great-grandson; Andrew Lemon; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on May 3, 2002; son, Randal Jones; parents; and siblings, Zelpha (Harry) Morey, Nora Louise (Devillo) Peltier, Garry (Roberta) Jones, Bessie (Ed) Kalis, Elizabeth (Eugene) Wood, and Bobby Jones.
