Obituary for James Bernard "Jim" O'Neill

James Bernard "Jim"  O'Neill
O'NEILL, JAMES "JIM" BERNARD, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland.

A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 5 p.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. A memorial visitation will be held beginning at 3 p.m. until the time of the service. A Luncheon will be held following the service in the Reflections Reception Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Jim was born on December 25, 1949, in Big Rapids, the son of Charles and Mary (Lemn) O'Neill. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 17 years. He was a compliance officer for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe's gaming commission for 25 years, retiring March 5, 2018. Jim married Brenda Lackie in Big Rapids on August 7, 2009. He loved golfing, flower gardening, his cats, the sunshine, and being outdoors. Jim was a talker, and could carry on conversation for hours with anyone.

Jim is survived by his sons Tim (Terri) O'Neill of Grand Rapids, MI and Ryan O'Neill of Hastings, MI; stepson Brandon Sanders of Las Vegas; 2 grandsons Justin and Jordan; a great grandson Isaac; sister Joyce Hart of Newburg, IN, Peggy Louden of Hastings, MI, and Edna (David) Mongeau of Mt. Pleasant.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Jean Sena; and a stepson Michael Sanders.
