James Albert Roland 76, life resident of rural Harrison passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw, Michigan. James was born July 18, 1941 in Clare County, Michigan, the son of Albert and Hazel (Davis) Roland. James graduated from Harrison High School in 1961.
Mr. Roland had resided in rural Harrison his entire lifetime. Jim retired from the State of Michigan Highway Department after nineteen years of dedicated service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed fishing and spearing on the Cutt River of Roscommon County, Michigan. Jim was a gentle spirit and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was considered a “true giver.” He loved to fix vehicles for his family and friends and was considered as a top notch wrench. Jim found relaxation in drinking coffee in his favorite chair, and watching out the window.
Surviving Mr. Roland is four loving children, one daughter, Connie Brown and husband Richard, three sons; Scott Roland and wife Kathy, Gary Roland and wife Rhonda and Ronnie Roland, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister, Kathy Teal, one brother, Roger Roland, plus many nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Christopher Randall and one sister in law, Joanne Roland.
