Jeff was born to Rose and Harvey Pickler on February 26, 1950, in Roseville, Michigan. On May 1, 1982, he married Patricia (Kane), his wife of 35 years.  Jeff began his career in Law Enforcement at Central Michigan University Police Department in 1973 where he worked for 35 years before retiring as Detective Sergeant.  He also served 27 years as a part-time firefighter, starting with the Fremont-Deerfield Fire Department in 1984, and retiring from the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department in 2011. Jeff worked for nine years with the City of Mt. Pleasant as a Code Enforcement Officer until his final retirement in June of 2017.

He enjoyed camping and bike riding.  He particularly enjoyed his summers camping in Lake City, Michigan and he cherished the many friendships he made there. Jeff also was especially fond of wine tasting in the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an usher for many years.

Jeff leaves behind his wife, Patricia, daughter Kathleen (Jason) Hull of Clare, a son, David of Mt. Pleasant, and his greatest joy in recent years, his grandson Ethan. He is also survived by his sister Joanne (Joseph) Missant of Marlette, MI, his brother John, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Harvey Pickler, a brother, Douglas, and his nephew, Michael Missant.
