Obituary for Jerry Edward Bunker

BUNKER, JERRY EDWARD, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at his home under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice.

Funeral Services for Jerry will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 27, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Screws of the Oil City Assembly of God officiating. Interment will follow in Chippewa Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the Reflections Reception Center after the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Jerry was born on August 12, 1949, in Lakeview, the son of Amos and Pauline (Haney) Bunker. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry married Rebecca "Carol" Bunker on December 22, 1978, in Mt. Pleasant. He worked for the oil fields for over 40 years. There is nothing more in life that Jerry loved than being with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rebecca; children, Stacy (Lori) Rider of Flat Rock, MI, Melissa Bunker of Dahlonega, GA, Scott (Jessica) Bunker of Mt. Pleasant, and Chadwick (Jennifer) Bunker of Shepherd; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Bunker of St. Johns, Neil Bunker, and Randy Bunker, both of Mt. Pleasant; and sisters, Suzie (Jack) Burton of Ashton, and Debra Bunker of Mt. Pleasant

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Bunker; and sister-in-law, Gale Bunker.
