Condolences

Condolence From: Julia Kotova
Condolence: No words can describe the grief we feel forever parting with Joseph De Bolt. My husband Alexey and I, like many Russian friends at the Orel State University, will never forget this unique and gifted man. He was the one who opened our minds, enriched us with his knowledge of human society and American culture. He brought us closer to understanding the American values, inspired us with his great lectures, his philosophy of the world without borders, barriers and prejudices.
His Russian and American students taking part in educational programs and exchanges will remember him as a rare scholar, a seeker for truth, a voracious book reader and attentive listener. He provided a strong support for the Russian artist Nikolay Getman and contributed a lot of his time and effort to make him famous in America, too. He helped organize the Exhibition of Getman's pictures reflecting the tragic experience of history, very similar to that of A. Solzhenitsin. Joseph supported the children at the Orel Children hospital sending money, surgery instruments and drugs. He visited the SOS village for orphans, participating in the charity funds and support of people who needed medical help.
It is impossible to describe all our meetings and experiences with Joe and his family. But the gratitude, the pride we feel for having met him is with us forever. Our condolences to Joe's big family. God bless you!

Condolence: Dear Grandpa

I love you. You are the only Grandfather I've ever known. Thank you for accepting me. Thank you for every birthday card and gift. I hope you know how much I appreciated every expression of love. You never got to meet my fiance Justin but know that I am happy and I know you would have approved. Thank you for raising Joe to be the man he is to mom and me. Thank you for introducing him to knowledge and experiences so that he may pass that on to his future grandkids, your great grans. I will never forget you. You will always be in my heart and on my mind. You have left your mark.

-love Cassie
