Obituary for June Pearl Koppela (Clyde)

June Pearl Koppela (Clyde)
On July 13, 2018, June Pearl Koppela, nee Clyde, 95, went home to be with her Lord peacefully in her sleep.
June was born January 20, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ethel Grace Kirker and Charles Alexander Clyde. June lived a long and happy life as a homemaker. She married Roy Koppela on July 17, 1942. They raised 4 children together in Keego Harbor, MI. They retired to a home they built by hand in Leota, MI. After Roy’s passing in 1976, June devoted her time to her beloved family. June’s storytelling, helpful spirit, and love of children endeared her whenever she visited. She loved sitting on the floor with little ones to play, she loved cars, and she loved to watch Tiger baseball and Red Wing hockey. She once told her family that the reason she married Roy was that he took her driving in his '40 powder blue DeSoto. At the end of her life, she lived with her daughter Sharon in a log cabin in Michigan’s beautiful western Upper Peninsula, and enjoyed singing, church, walks in the sunshine, and watching the hummingbirds and deer.
June will forever be remembered by her children, Douglas (Jackie) Koppela, Robert (Nancy) Koppela, John (Denise) Koppela, Sharon Faustin (nee Wangler); her grandchildren Donald (Sandy) Koppela, Christine (the late Art) Frangedakis, Lisa (David)Sutherland, Toni (Duke) Koppela, Jennifer (Tony) Taratuta, Sam Koppela, Christopher Koppela, Ryan Koppela, Kristen Koppela, Jim (Melissa) Wangler, Tim Wangler, Jake Wangler, Sarah (Kevin Avery) Wangler; her sisters, Charlotte Fallis and Ruth Timm, and also by her 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on July 20 at noon -3:00 pm at the Stocking Funeral Home and burial services will be held at Summerfield Cemetery, on West Haskell Lake Rd. 2.5 miles west of Old State Ave., Harrison MI 48625.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, June’s favorite charity.
