Obituary for Kathleen Merine "Kate" Henry (Bragg)

HENRY, KATHLEEN "KATE" MERINE, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Prestige Centre under the care of MidMichigan Hospice.

Funeral Services for Kate will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 17, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dana Hendershot officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at the VFW Post 3033. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to MidMichigan Hospice, Immanuel Lutheran Church, or the VFW Post 3033. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Kate was born on September 18, 1924, in Saginaw, the daughter of Carl and Merine (Gratopp) Bragg. She married Raymond Henry on February 12, 1949. Kate worked as a butcher's helper at Kroger for 2 years before working in housekeeping in the girls dorms at Central Michigan University for 10 years. Kate was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3033. Kate enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and playing cards.

Kate is survived by her children, Thomas (Ramona) Woodbury of London, KY, and Ann (Lowell) Graham of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, June Thering and Elaine Bunting, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Henry on July 7, 1999; parents; and brothers, Shirley Bragg, Carl "Bill" Bragg, Roger Bragg, and Eugene Bragg; and grandson, Michael Graham.
