Obituary for Kathy Mae Bardos-Guarisco (Hilts)
Kathy Mae Bardos-Guarisco, age 66, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services for Kathy will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 3 p.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norval K. Morey Cancer Center or the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Kathy was born on May 23, 1950, in Detroit, the daughter of Forest "Red" and Ethel "Jerry" (Clemons) Hilts. She married Robert Guarisco on July 25, 1998, in Mt. Pleasant. She worked in transportation most of her life, starting bus driving in 1978. She worked for Dean Transportation and was the busing supervisor for the Saginaw Chippewa Academy until she became ill. Kathy loved life and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Kathy was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3033. Kathy was a master of organization and cleaning was her specialty.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Bob Guarisco of Millington, MI; daughter-in-law, Kristi Pifer of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Seth, Riley, Wesley, and Ty Pifer; sisters, Linda (Wayne) Groat of Drummond Island, Gale (Gary) Bardos of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Ray Hilts of Drummond Island; father-in-law, Antineno Guarisco of Croton, MI; several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; special aunt, June Reedy and family in Washington state; and beloved dog, Lulu.
Kathy was preceded in death by her son, George Pifer, Jr. on January 11, 2015; parents; and mother-in-law, Joanne Guarisco.
