RATHKA, KIRK "KURT" WAYNE, age 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at MediLodge of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Kirk will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 17, at 5 p.m. with Ben Evers officiating. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Kirk was born on March 19, 1941, in Pontiac, the son of Carl and Geraldine (Tyrell) Rathka. He married Vickie Van Kuren on April 9, 1985. Kirk was self employed as a truck driver. Kirk enjoyed going to concerts and visiting friends in Rochester.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Vickie; brother, Gary (Janet) Rathka; sister-in-law, Sharon Southwick; nephews, Steven Southwick, Jr., Gregory Southwick, Matthew Southwick, and Brent Rathka; niece, Courtney Rathka; 2 great-nephews, Cole Southwick and Hudson Southwick.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Mary "Jean" Van Kuren; and father-in-law, Norman Van Kuren.
