Larry Lee Richardson, Sr., 65, of Blanchard died on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at his home.

A Funeral Mass for Larry will be held on Thursday, July 13th at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Steve Cron officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, Sacred Heart Athletic Association or the Donor’s Choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Larry was born on July 15, 1940 in Carson City, the son of Lonie Richardson, Sr. and Mildred Wood. He was a 1958 graduate from Shepherd High School. On May 28, 1960 he married the love of his life, Jean McCrackin, at St. Mary’s Church in Carson City. Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant and a member of the Knights of Columbus of Beal City. He started his working career at Olson Tire Service and also became a volunteer firefighter and arson investigator. He progressed through the ranks to hold a sergeant position. Larry also was a self-employed electrician. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the deer camp. He also was an accomplished pilot and a seasoned sailor. After retiring from the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Larry and Jean moved to Blanchard where he spent many enjoyable years on his farm where he took care of his Scottish Highland Cattle, made maple syrup, tended his bees to make honey and played with the other love of his life – his dog Lucy.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Carmen (Dennis) Bullock of Lusby, MD and Kelly (Jim) Browne of Fowlerville; sons, Larry (Jamie) Richardson, Jr. of Maybee, MI, Mark (Cathleen) Richardson of Battle Creek and Tony Richardson of Jackson; grandchildren, Zachary, Kendra, Melanie, Kelsea, Marcus, Cody, Mackenzie, Kaleb, Carson, Cheyanne and Rylee; brothers, Lonie (Joan) Richardson of Carson City and James (Carroll) Wood of Cedar Springs and sisters, Marie (Dan) Steed of Ithaca and Cathy (Mark) Acruno of Onadaga, MI.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lonie Richardson and Mildred Wood, his brothers, Bob and Scott Richardson and step-mother, “Cat” Richardson.
