LaVerne J. McQueen, 66, of Lake Isabella, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 24, 2006 surrounded by his family and friends.

Funeral services for Vern will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tony Karns officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Vern was born October 8, 1939, in Isabella County, Michigan to Lyle and Helen (Bowman) McQueen. He married Susan Neighorn on May 25, 1968. his loving wife of 38 years. He spent most of his life working on the family farm where he was raised. Vern enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling.

Vern is survived by his wife: Susan McQueen of Weidman; three children: April (Shane) Humphrey of Mecosta, Terry Anderson of Weidman and Tim Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother, Harold (Joyce) McQueen of Riverdale.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Helen McQueen.
