Obituary for Lawrence Anthony Holder

HOLDER, LAWRENCE ANTHONY, 63, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.

A Memorial Service for Lawrence will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Brown Street Church of Christ with Chris Gardner officiating. A potluck luncheon will follow the Service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.

Lawrence was born on October 17, 1952, in Pontiac, the son of Samuel Doris and Willie Marvene (Lawrence) Holder.

Lawrence attended Lawrence Technological University. He worked as a woodworker for Local Union 1452 for 45 years and enjoyed building things from wood. Lawrence had also worked maintenance at the Soaring Eagle Casino. He loved helping people. Lawrence was a member of Brown Street Church of Christ.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Leif (Karyn Bishop) Holder of Holly, Laheah Holder of Clarkston, Layton Holder of Pontiac, Logan Holder of Pontiac, and Landyn Holder of Clarkston; grandchildren, Cameron Holder, Alec Holder, Liam Holder, and Ashlynn Holder; sisters, Doris Weakland of Harrison, Norma (Josiah) Tilton of Arkansas, and Lavina (Anthony) Lange, Jr. of Waterford. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents.
